THE COURSE
A challenging closed road criterium 1 kilometre course around the iconic Berkhamsted Castle.
RIDE WITHOUT RACING
If you'd like to experience riding a closed road circuit without having to race the course will be open for everyone to ride from 10:00 to 10:40 and 13:10 to 13:40.
CAN I RACE?
Of course... Throughout the day the Berkhamsted Castle Revolutions Festival will feature numerous child & youth races, female only races and Go Race events for first timers including events for seasoned racers.

RACE ENTRIES
The race entries will be limited to 50 riders for Senior and Master events and 40 riders for Junior and Go-Race events.
For men's, women's and youth races priority will be given to other clubs that are hosting rounds of the 2016 Tarmac Tour of Hertfordshire, initially a team entry of 4 + 1 reserve. The field will then be selected by the following process: Central Region Clubs/Teams, All other Clubs/Teams. If places remain, team sizes will be expanded equally across entered clubs.
Unattached Riders will be given a place if the event is under-subscribed after all of the above criteria have been applied.
SIGN ON
Sign on & kit check are located at the Berkhamsted Cricket Club, Castle Hill, HP4 1HE and will open 1h 30m before each race and will close 30m before. In order to keep to schedule riders must be penned 20 mins before each race.
TARMAC TOUR OF HERTFORDSHIRE SCRATCH RACE
The top 10 placed riders from the Masters & Cat 2,3,4 races will automatically be entered into the Tarmac Tour of Hertfordshire Berkhamsted Castle Revolutions Festival Scratch race at the end of the day... That's 2 race entries for the price of 1!
FOLDING BIKE CLUB & CORPORATE CHALLENGE
Grab two friends/collegues to form a team of 3 for this Le Mans style folding bike challenge! Run to your bike, unfold it and then hit the track all while dressed ready for the office (torso only - ie lycra shorts, jacket, shirt & tie).
There will be a fleet of folding bikes from one of our partners on hand, so you don't even need to bring a bike!

BIKE/GEAR CHECK
All racers will need to have their bikes & gear checked when you sign on before you will be allowed to race. Please ensure your bike is roadworthy & remember to bring your helmet! Please visit the British Cycling website for details of gear restrictions for youth riders. They are there to protect young legs from undue stress and injuries.
